Save yourself the trouble of having to make up and sterilise your own agar supplies. These are made fresh for each order for absolute freshness. The petri dishes are triple-vented disposables intended for single use and will melt if placed in an autoclave/pressure cooker. Once poured and set, the petri dish edges are sealed with parafilm (as shown in the photo) prior to preparing for dispatch.
Agar plates are definitely the best way to go from spores to live and healthy mycelium (as opposed to inoculating grain) as they allow you to isolate healthy mycelium growth from any potential contaminants (spore syringes are never guaranteed to be entirely sterile).
Note:
All agar petri dishes are made to order, sterile and dispatched 24-48 hours after pouring.
